ONEBIGGAME LAUNCHES WITH CHIME!

After years of waiting, we're finally here! OneBigGame officialy announces the first game to launch! The game's called Chime and it's a unique blend between block puzzle games and music games. It's even being endorsed by a number of world famous artists who kindly donated a track each. In short, it's great, the game's as addictive as hell and although I am biased, I haven't been returning to a game so often like Chime. The game's been created by Zoe Mode, the world's leading independent developer of social, party and music games. They were one of the first to sign on for our charity initiative and this game fully deserves to be our launch title!

Ready to go

So, we're counting down the hours here until the first game is announced... Or I should say first games are announced, as last Saturday Masaya Matsuura gave a keynote at Game City in Nottingham, were he gave a select audience a sneak peek at the game he is crafting for OneBigGAme.... It's called WINtA and further details will be revealed further down the line, as this game won't launch until well into the new year.

All we need is charity...

Always good to see more and more charity initiatives cropping up. MTV and Harmonix have teamed up with Microsoft to leverage the popularity of The Beatles: Rock Band and donate the proceeds of DLC track All You Need is Love to Doctors without Borders. A good cause, a great initiative and good to see that it works. It gives us even more confidence that our idea of small online games created by famous developers and designers for charity has potential.

Cheers to the guys at Harmonix, MTV Games and Microsoft!

famous last words

"...Leading up to the launch we'll be keeping you posted with daily updates on what is going on behind the scenes of OneBigGame .... "

That was early 2009 and we genuinely believed at that point we only had only a few to go before we would finally be able to not only unveil the line-up of participating developers and designers in our charity initiative, but also reveal our first games to the general public. As games would near completion, that would also surely provided more than enough interesting things to post about on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, it wasn't to be and the first few games got delayed, so instead of posting daily updates on some of the great games in development, the only thing we could theoretically write about would be delays and further delays.

So we kept a low profile and waited until we're finally convinced it was all going to happen. Which is now. It's not that long anymore before we can start, so watch this space. It's been 3 years in the making, but the wait should be more than worth it... And it's good to know there are worse offenders... ;)
